Playwire is a full-service digital innovation partner that leverages online advertising and proprietary technologies to build publishing brands in the gaming and entertainment verticals.

To keep pace with our explosive growth, we are currently seeking a driven, outgoing, and experienced digital advertising sales professional with demonstrated success in developing, managing and growing a high-opportunity territory. This Sales Director will be part of our rapidly growing team and will be responsible for growing Playwire’s revenue footprint in Canada.

The position requires outstanding prospecting, sales, communication, and organizational skills. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining deep relationships on the client and agency side and must have a full understanding of programmatic digital advertising. Optimal candidates will have existing ad agency relationships in the market, be willing to prospect with purpose, and possess a competitive edge.

Essential Functions:

  • Minimum of 7 years in online ad sales with a responsibility of at least $3mm-$5mm
  • Track record of developing and maintaining long-term relationships with a wide variety of clients and agencies
  • Self-motivated hunter with demonstrated ability to create and grow revenue footprint
  • Works intelligently and with a sense of urgency
  • Embraces the art of customer service and communication
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively with other people and departments in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
  • CRM experience highly preferred and at a minimum embraced
  • Whilst located in Toronto, there could be a level of travel required as needed
  • Meet and exceed Quarterly and Annual Sales Goal
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; or equivalent
  • 5+ years of digital media sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Understanding of the programmatic, RTB, platform, automation eco-system
  • Deep knowledge of digital media advertising trends
  • Demonstrated ability to create revenue as an individual and subsequently build, supervise and motivate a team
  • Proven track record of exceeding both individual and team quotas
  • Demonstrate an ability to think creatively, sell strategically, and communicate efficiently internally and externally
  • Clearly and effectively convey your passion and product knowledge in a polished manner
  • Display a passionate, positive, and problem-solving attitude
  • Overwhelming desire to win, and to continually improve your personal and professional skills
  • Experience working with top digital media planning/buying agencies in the respective region
  • Strong presentation skills
