Playwire, a global technology company specializing in revenue amplification for publishers and content creators, announced today its partnership with Checkmate Gaming (CMG), a global online esports platform that rewards gamers’ skills in grueling competitive ladders, tournaments, and challenges through generous cash prizes.

The partnership expects to spur an increase in sponsorships and customization, from hosting gaming contests to broadcasting opportunities on the CMG platform, which holds tournaments on player-favorite titles including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite, and FIFA 20.

“We’re thrilled about our new partnership with Playwire,” added Jonathan Levi, CEO, and Co-founder of Checkmate Gaming (CMG). “Playwire’s vast industry knowledge, coupled with their adtech reputation, supports our growth objective. This partnership will allow us to remain focused on growing our business while Playwire improves our advertising goals and develops new partnerships.”

Founded in 2016, Checkmate Gaming has since grown into a household name among members of the gaming and esports community. The global platform, who on July 15-16th is hosting a 2v2 $1,000 Prize Call of Duty event representing the Minnesota Rokkr Team, offers gamers the chance to win cash prizes in the multitude of tournaments, competitive ladders, and challenges Checkmate Gaming organizes on a pre-determined schedule. These events can be accessed on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and even Nintendo Switch.

“We are proud to launch this partnership with Checkmate Gaming,” said Anthony Berrena, Playwire’s SVP of Global Revenue. “CMG brings a unique esports experience with its tournament hosting platform, utilized by millions of amateur and professional gamers looking to competitively play popular game titles for clout and money.”

Since its inception in 2007, Playwire has helped publishers reach global audiences with highly custom media executions. A pioneer in in-game advertising, Playwire has a strong presence in gaming and esports, working with top brands, agencies, coaching tools, including Overwolf, and an exclusive partnership with Misfits Gaming Group.
